Common questions

Where is my data? Everything is stored on your device. There are no accounts or servers, so we can't see or recover your projects.

I bought the unlock on another device. Open Settings in Pinwell and tap Restore purchase, signed in with the same Apple ID.

How do I get a report off my phone? On the Export screen, tap Share to send it by Mail, WhatsApp, AirDrop or Files, or Save to phone.

Privacy policy

Pinwell does not collect any data about you. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics and no advertising. Everything you create in Pinwell stays on your device.

What stays on your device

Your projects, plans, drawings, pins, issues, photos, mark-up, signature, company details and reports are stored only on your iPhone or iPad. They are not uploaded anywhere by Pinwell. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it, unless it is included in your own device backup.

Camera, photos and files

Pinwell asks to use your camera and photo library so you can add drawings and photos to issues, and lets you choose PDF files to use as drawings. These are only used inside the app and are copied into Pinwell's own storage on your device.

Microphone and dictation

If you use the Dictate button, Pinwell uses the microphone and iPhone speech recognition to turn what you say into an issue description. Where your device supports it, this happens on the device. Pinwell doesn't keep or send any recordings.

Sharing

Reports and spreadsheets are only sent when you choose to share them, using the standard iOS share sheet or Mail. Where they go is up to you.

Purchases

The optional unlock is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment; Pinwell never sees your payment details or Apple ID.

Children

Pinwell does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
